Frequently asked questions
The questions clients ask before they build.
Pricing, process, timelines, ownership, and life after launch. We based these answers on the questions clients have asked us across hundreds of calls and projects.
01
Starting a project
I only have a rough idea. Is that enough to talk?
Yes. Bring the problem, the users you want to help, and any notes or examples you have. We will help you decide what belongs in the first version, identify the risky assumptions, and turn the idea into a plan your team can build.
What happens after the first call?
We review the product, your goals, the target users, and any deadline or budget constraints. If there is a fit, we recommend a next step. For most new products, that means a Product Blueprint Sprint before development starts. If you already have a product or a detailed specification, we may begin with a technical review instead.
What is the Product Blueprint Sprint?
It is a 1 to 2 week planning engagement. We define the product flows, MVP scope, edge cases, technical architecture, data model, integrations, delivery stages, budget range, and timeline. You receive a buildable product plan and a specification-grade prototype. We scope the sprint around your product and include its commercial terms in the proposal.
Can I take the blueprint to another development team?
Yes. The Blueprint Sprint stands on its own. You keep the scope, prototype, architecture decisions, and delivery plan whether you hire Priority Soft for the build or hand the package to another capable team.
How do you price a full product build?
We scope each project after we understand the product and the work required. A build engagement reserves a full product team, including strategy, design, engineering, quality assurance, and delivery leadership. The proposal sets out the team, agreed deliverables, schedule, and commercial terms before you commit.
How long will my project take?
The Blueprint Sprint takes 1 to 2 weeks. A full build often takes 2 to 6 months. We confirm the schedule after discovery, then track progress through agreed delivery stages. Fast feedback and access to the people who can approve product decisions help us protect that schedule.
Do you work on existing products and inherited codebases?
Yes. We start by reviewing the code, infrastructure, documentation, and current product priorities. That review tells us whether we should extend the existing system, repair specific parts, or replace parts that create too much risk. We will explain the tradeoffs before recommending a rebuild.
02
Building the product
How do you keep me informed during the build?
We run the build through a shared Basecamp project where you can ask questions and see progress, decisions, next steps, and anything awaiting your input. You appoint one point of contact who can make decisions. That person and our delivery lead must attend a weekly project meeting. If a conflict arises, we reschedule it within the same week. Timely feedback and approvals help us keep the build on the agreed schedule.
Who will work on my project?
We assign a group based on the work. It may include product strategy, UX and UI design, engineering, quality assurance, and delivery leadership. You meet the people responsible for the product and have a direct line to the person coordinating the work.
How do you choose the technology stack?
We choose technology around the product, your existing systems, hiring market, security needs, and operating cost. We explain the decision in the blueprint. Our team works across web, iOS, Android, cross-platform mobile, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and AI integrations.
How much time will you need from me?
Plan for 2 to 3 working sessions during the Blueprint Sprint, then a demo every two weeks during the build. We also need one product owner who can answer questions and approve decisions within about 48 hours. We handle the technical work and keep your input focused on product and business decisions.
What happens when the scope changes?
We document the request, estimate its effect on cost and timing, and give you options before the team starts the extra work. You can swap priorities, move the request into a later phase, or approve the added scope. The agreed blueprint remains the reference point for the delivery guarantee.
Do you offer a fixed price or work by the hour?
We price the Blueprint Sprint as a defined engagement. We scope each full build around agreed deliverables and reserve the full team for it. Your proposal explains the scope, assigned team, schedule, and commercial terms before work starts.
Can you sign an NDA and handle security or compliance requirements?
Yes. We can sign an NDA before you share sensitive material. During discovery, we document data flows, access rules, security controls, and relevant requirements such as GDPR or HIPAA. Your legal or compliance adviser should confirm the rules that apply to your business; we translate those rules into product and engineering work.
Are hosting, API, and app-store fees included?
Third-party charges sit outside our development fee unless the proposal says otherwise. That includes cloud hosting, paid APIs, email or SMS services, AI usage, payment processing, and app-store accounts. We estimate these costs during discovery, design for sensible usage, and set the accounts up under your ownership.
03
Ownership and support
Will I own the source code and product accounts?
Yes. You own the custom source code and deliverables after you pay the related invoices. We use client-controlled repositories, hosting, app-store accounts, and third-party services wherever possible. You also receive documentation and a handoff package, so another qualified team can operate the product if you choose to move it.
Do you handle launch and app-store submission?
Yes, when launch forms part of the agreed scope. We prepare production infrastructure, deployment, monitoring, and release checks. For mobile products, we guide you through the Apple and Google account setup, submit the apps, and handle up to three rounds of store-requested changes and resubmission.
What support do I get after launch?
Every full build includes 30 days of launch support. We fix defects in the agreed scope, help with launch-day issues, and hold a post-launch review. New features and product changes sit outside the warranty. You can keep the same team through a separately scoped Growth Retainer.
